Advisory Team Overview

There are several community advisory teams that meet regularly and advise the IRP. Teams are made up of representatives of the community, regulatory agencies, military, and local officials.

If you are interested in becoming a team member, please contact the IRP Community Involvement Office at (508) 968-4678, ext. 6.

For information about upcoming team meetings, please see the public meeting calendar.

The teams currently associated with the IRP are as follows:

APNAG = Ashumet Pond Nutrients Advisory Group
PCT = Plume Cleanup Team
SMB = Senior Management Board
  • The Ashumet Pond Nutrients Advisory (APNAG) provides comments and advice on proposed AFCEE actions for reducing phosphorus inputs to Ashumet Pond from the former MMR wastewater treatment plant.
  • The Senior Management Board (SMB) includes staff from the Massachusetts Adjutant General’s office, EPA, MADEP, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and E&RC; selectmen from the four surrounding towns; and the U.S. Coast Guard commander for the base residents. The Environmental & Readiness Center (E&RC) supports the SMB. The SMB also charters the Plume Cleanup Team (PCT) for the IRP.
    • The Plume Cleanup Team (PCT) provides advice to the AFCEE, EPA, and MassDEP Remedial Project/Program Managers (RPMs) of the Installation Restoration Program and to the Senior Management Board (SMB). The PCT provides advice on the cleanup of resources, on and off base, affected by contaminants from the MMR under applicable state and federal laws and regulations and on related community involvement issues.
