Fact Sheet #2001-05 How to Get Information on the IRP Cleanup Program at the MMR The Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) implemented the Installation Restoration Program (IRP) at the Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR). The IRP is responsible for cleaning up contaminated groundwater and soil areas at the MMR. There are several ways to obtain information regarding the IRP and this fact sheet highlights the following information resources: For Information on Other MMR Environmental Programs There are other environmental programs and activities ongoing at MMR sponsored by organizations other than the IRP. For more information on these environmental programs, please contact the MMR Joint Program Office at 508-968-5908. Public Information Repositories An Information Repository is a set of documents that contain important facts relating to the cleanup of a Superfund site, such as the Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR). It includes the Administrative Record, all correspondence, reports and documents pertaining to the cleanup of the MMR, as well as general Superfund program information. The Information Repositories are located in the local town libraries and in the base library, which is open to the public. The Information Repositories also are located on the IRP web site, www.mmr.org. The MMR Information Repository contains hundreds of documents. Many of the documents are of a technical nature and have titles such as "Remedial Investigation Report", "Baseline Risk Assessment" and "Feasibility Study". These documents are the results of years of environmental investigations and studies done at the MMR. Project Managers use the information to help them decide how best to clean up each site. All the information is made available to the public, so individuals can make their own evaluations. The Information Repository may contain other documents that are not required legally, but that might be useful to the public. Types of information contained in the Information Repository:
