Air Force Completes New Building in Mashpee

Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR), Cape Cod, Mass. — Officials of the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) announced today that construction of a new 1.3 million dollar Operations and Maintenance Building is complete.  The 5,460 square foot facility is adjacent to the Sandwich Road Treatment Facility on Massachusetts Military Reservation property adjacent to Back Road in Mashpee.

“From this building we’ll be able to monitor or control the operation of all the Air Force systems that treat contaminated groundwater associated with the Massachusetts Military Reservation, said Jon, Davis, AFCEE remediation program manager.  “The building will also house maintenance staff and provide areas for spare parts storage and shop repairs.”

AFCEE treatment systems clean the water to the safe drinking water quality standards set by federal and state regulators.

The Environmental Chemical Corporation (ECC) of Burlingame, California, constructed the facility.
