NEWS RELEASE
2004-17 Massachusetts
Military Reservation (MMR), Cape Cod, Mass. Officials of the Air Force Center
for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) announced today that its web site, www.mmr.org, has a new appearance and has been restructured
to allow for improved access to information on the soil and groundwater cleanup at the
Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR). The site is updated on a daily basis and
features recent news releases, soil and groundwater data, fact sheets, reports, and
archived program information. The Installation Restoration Programs web site, www.mmr.org, is a resource to communicate the Air Forces
ongoing soil and groundwater cleanup efforts on MMR to the public at large. The newest
feature is a link that provides project updates of upcoming construction and fieldwork
activities in the towns of Falmouth, Bourne, Mashpee, and Sandwich. It shows neighborhood
notices, road closures, maps, and photographs, said Jon Davis, AFCEE program
manager. The web site contains other materials related to the cleanup
program, such as new videos designed to show recent cleanup projects, cleanup information,
frequently asked questions, real estate information, community information, and
opportunities to become involved in the cleanup process.
