Air Force Announces Updated Road Construction, Closures and Detours Along Boxberry Hill Road in Falmouth

MASSACHUSETTS MILITARY RESERVATION, Cape Cod, Mass. — As part of the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence’s (AFCEE) Southwest Plumes Treatment Construction Project, AFCEE would like to announce upcoming traffic changes for Hatchville residents and users of Boxberry Hill Road. 

From August 15, 2005 through August 26, 2005, Boxberry Hill Road (between Route 151 and Hatchville Road) will have sections of the road completely closed.  The map on page 2 shows the location of this construction project as well as the closed sections and dates of construction.

 

·        Work hours will be extended to M-F, 7:30 AM - 7:00 P.M, so that Boxberry Hill Road will remain open on the weekends with 2-lane traffic at all work area locations.

Trenching operations: 

  • From August 8 through late September 2005, there will be on-going trenching operations along Boxberry Hill Road.  Pipeline construction along Boxberry Hill Road will proceed easterly at approximately 100 feet per day, ending just beyond Brady Drive. Traffic will be reduced to one-lane; however, there will be short intervals (10-15 min) of full road closure. Police details will be in place. 

Work location at the corner of Brady Drive and Boxberry Hill Road:

o       From August 15 through August 19 – one lane open during construction

o       From August 22 through August 26 - Boxberry Hill Road closed at this location.

o       From September 9 through September 19 – one lane open during construction.

Work location in between #495 Boxberry Hill and #550 Boxberry Hill Road

o       From August 8 through August 12 – one lane open during construction

o       From August 15 through August 19 - Boxberry Hill Road closed at this location.

o       From August 22 through September 2 – one lane open during construction.
