Air Force Public Meeting in  Bourne

MASSACHUSETTS MILITARY RESERVATION, Cape Cod, Mass. — Officials of the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) announced today that the Plume Cleanup Team (PCT) will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at the Bourne Best Western, 100 Trowbridge Road, Bourne.

The PCT is a citizen advisory team that provides advice to the regulatory agencies and the AFCEE Installation Restoration Program (IRP).  The IRP is responsible for groundwater and soil investigation and cleanup that is, in most instances, on-and-from the southern portion of the Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR).

The main meeting topics are:

• The results of the Ashumet Valley Groundwater Feasibility Study

• The Proposed Plan for Landfill 1 and Chemical Spill 23

• An update on Fuel Spill 28 and,

• An update on the leading edge of Chemical Spill 20

A discussion period will follow each agenda presentation.
