Air Force Plume Cleanup Team to Meet in Falmouth

MASSACHUSETTS Military Reservation, Cape Cod, Mass. Officials of the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) announced today that the Plume Cleanup Team (PCT) will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at the Holiday Inn, 291 Jones Road, Falmouth.

 

The PCT is a citizen advisory team that provides advice to the regulatory agencies and the AFCEE Installation Restoration Program (IRP).  The IRP is responsible for groundwater and soil investigation primarily in the southern portion of the Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR).

 

The main meeting topics are:

 

  • Testing of Harbors, Ponds, and Private Wells

 

  • An update on Data Collection for the Chemical Spill 10 Source Area

 

  • PCT Input to the Landfill 1/Chemical Spill 23 Proposed Plan

 

  • The Source Area Delisting Process

 

  • An update on the Chemical Spill 20 Leading Edge

 

A discussion period will follow each agenda presentation.
