Air Force Citizen Advisory Team to Meet in Bourne
MASSACHUSETTS
Military Reservation, Cape Cod, Mass.-
Officials of the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) announced today that the Plume Cleanup Team (PCT) will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at the Bourne Best Western, 100 Trowbridge Road, Bourne. The public is invited to attend.
The PCT is a citizen team that provides advice to the regulatory agencies and the AFCEE Installation Restoration Program (IRP). The IRP is responsible for groundwater and soil investigation primarily in the southern portion of the Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR).
The main meeting topics are:
· Update on Fuel Spill 1 in Mashpee
· Update on Ashumet Pond in East Falmouth/Mashpee
· A presentation on the Ashumet and Johns Pond Bullhead Survey (East Falmouth/Mashpee)
· Update on the Notice of Intent for Partial Deletion of Source Area Sites. The deletion or delisting process addresses how sites that meet acceptable federal and state cleanup standards are removed from the national federal list of contaminated sites.
· Fiscal Year 2007 preview of activities
A discussion period will follow each agenda presentation.
The public is encouraged to attend this meeting to interact with members of the citizen advisory team, as well as representatives of the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.
