2006-30 MASSACHUSETTS MILITARY RESERVATION, Cape Cod, Mass. -
Officials of the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) announced today
that the Plume Cleanup Team (PCT) will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2005 at
the Falmouth Holiday Inn, 291 Jones Road, Falmouth. The PCT is a citizen advisory team that
provides advice to the regulatory agencies and the AFCEE Installation Restoration Program
(IRP). The IRP is responsible for groundwater and soil investigation and cleanup
that is, in most instances, on-and-from the southern portion of the Massachusetts Military
Reservation (MMR). The first meeting topic is a presentation on environmental
considerations for the Installation Restoration Program. A presentation and
discussion period will take place concerning Wind Turbine/Electric Use. The second topic will be an update on the Ashumet Valley groundwater
plume, including a presentation followed by a discussion period. The third and final main topic will be an update presentation on
Chemical Spill 10, ending with a discussion period. The meeting will close with brief updates on access to Southwest
Plumes properties and the status of Ashumet Pond Fish Sampling and Analysis. The public is encouraged to attend this
meeting to interact with members of the citizen advisory team, as well as representatives
of the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence, the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency, and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. To obtain an
