Develop a design plan for all plumes. The Revised Comprehensive Plume Response Plan and Schedule was released July 15, 1996, as part of the MMR IRP Strategic Plan. Closed.

Ensure $100M remains available beyond next 2 years. The Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Environmental Security [DUSD(ES)] and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Environment, Safety and Occupational Health (SAF/MIQ) have committed to fund all MMR IRP requirements when these projects are ready for contract action. A letter signed by DUSD(ES) was provided to the USEPA Region I Administrator on May 16, 1996. Closed.

Provide best available DoD staff (AFCEE). AFCEE has been positioned as the MMR cleanup program management agency. Closed.

Maintain support to TRETs. The Air Force will continue to fund its portion of the TRET and will continue to involve the TRET for the duration of the comprehensive plume response decision processes. The Air Force expects the other agencies involved in the TRET to fund their own salaries, travel/per diem, and management costs. Closed.

Expand test and use of recirculating well technology. The Revised Comprehensive Plume Response Plan and Schedule calls for pilot tests of recirculating well technology. Successful tests will lead to full scale implementation. Closed.

Develop critical path method for cleanup strategy decision making (design and construction). The Comprehensive Plume Response Plan (CPRP) and Schedule contains a Master Integrated Program Schedule (MIPS) for all design and construction efforts. Closed.

Examine all contracting options. The Air Force has and will continue to examine all possible contracting procedures and will employ the most responsive and flexible cost reimbursement contracts available. Closed.

Continue to involve community as full partner. The Air Force supports continued public participation through the SMB and PATs. A Community Involvement Plan (CIP) was developed in consultation with all parties. Closed.
